Mission
Hoofprints in the Sand is organized and operated to empower and support those, especially Veterans, suffering from traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as their families, through equine-assisted therapy and outdoor activities, and rehabilitative and therapeutic healing programs.
Meet the Herd
Our Story
Founded in February 2021, Hoofprints in the Sand is an equine therapy facility that serves Veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Our founder, Sarah Lustig, is a nurse who recognizes the power that horses hold in healing. HITS was created to fill the gaps in care, offering longer and more effective treatments to individuals on waiting lists or facing uncertainty.
